Do you mean a black patternless? Or do you mean a black crestie with a lighter dorsum?

I have a male that is almost solid black or a very dark chocolate when he is fired up, and paler the rest of the time.  I think most of you would consider him patterless, although he shows some freckles when not fired-up and he does have color on his tail.  He is only about 22 grams, so he needs to do some growing, if I can figure out how to upload pictures, I will send them along.  I don't wish to sell him, but if you are near me, I might be willing to loan him once he reaches breeding weight.   Carrie in Cali

Part of the time I am not far from SacTown.  Citrus Heights near Oak and Fair Oaks.    Sneeze and you're in Orangevale.  Rest of the time, I'm up the hill from Angels Camp.
My thanks for the photo tip.  Carrie

I have a male crested that is pale olive/tan during the day and fires up almost completely black. I don't have many pictures since I just got him two weeks ago, but here's a few I do have. (Don't mind the flash, I'm a horrible photographer.)

On my finger:

Partially fired up:

A bit darker than a normal daytime color:
