I wanted to supplement feeding with some roaches and was wondering which ones would be best.  Any suggestions?  Or will most folks say NONE since the CGD is all they need?  Thanks!

i like to provide live prey once a week to add variety to the diet plus it provides a certain amount of protein moisture and after dusting a good amount of calcium and other good vits and minerals. so using the fact that not knowing the nutritional value of the feeder insect imho should not prevent u from using them once a week, i also switch between different feeders  every week to add additional variety.

The best roaches I have found are Blaptica Dubia.

They are awesome feeders, way better than crickets. The geckos seem to enjoy them too.

Feeding insects is fine, as long as you dust with either calcium or T rex Leopard Gecko dust.

I find that my geckos grow a lot better when feeding insects once a week along with the CGD.

Thank you for everyone's reply.  Do Dubia roaches climb glass?  Are they quick breeders?  I've read that you should darken their breeding tank since roaches like it dark.  I wonder how many to start with to get a colony going....any suggestions are where to get them from?

Dubia roaches don't climb glass.  They take a little while to grow to sexual maturity, but once they get going, they will never stop.  There is a blaptica dubia thread that I started in the arachnids section of the forum.  There are some photos of my roach colony there.

I use to have a colony of Dubia but most of the cresteds never ate them.  It's also tough to keep them from going under whatever substrate you have so the geckos cant get to them.

Climb or not I would be spilling them everywhere and have roaches all over the house.  LOL!!  NO THANK YOU.  I don't live in New York City anymore and don't want to be reminded of perhaps the most major thing that is really NOT fun about city living.
