I've seen a couple pretty tame, but 99.9% of them haven't been. Nice snake.

So how'd you do it? How'd you get him tame? Luck of the draw?
I have a baby halloween phase ATB and I've been trying to handle him, but he just doesn't want to do anything other than eat me.
When I take him out with the hook he's impossible to get off and is in constant striking position. Well, that's all the time actually. Have any tips for me?

They tend to be fairly nasty by nature. The one here is more the exception that the rule. I think you may have to accept the fact that you have "to look at only" snake.

my bf recently bought a trio of ATB's, and 2 out of 3 were completely docile. they were handled regularly, but the guy also had some that always struck and bit and would not tame down for anything.

I had a buddy with one of these guys, and I wandered into his room just after her bought it, opened the cage to handle it like many of his other snakes, he posed to strike, and that was the end of our relationship. On the plus side they're nice to look at.
