What could I safely use to color and texturize the foam background of the Exo Terra terrariums? I'm thinking dark, natural shades that would have a texture similar to rock or bark. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Zac

I have heard of someone joining two together and siliconing then painting the seam to match, but they didn't say what type of paint they used. Possibly spray paint in layers or apply with a sponge in layers of colors to achieve a similar result. Problem is I don't know what type of paints would be safe. Possibly any that dry nontoxic, wont readily flake & water proof. But I'd kinda like to know too.

good ideas. do you guys think i could use silicone to adhere thin branches/vines or tiny planters? if the silicone won't hold large objects to foam background, what could i use? any ideas?

thanks,

Silicone could work, but curing time might make it a poor choice. And do not allow near animals until cured, fumes can be bad for you too.
