I have 2 crested gecko's that I mainly feed crickets.  I'm having a hard time getting them to eat the crested gecko diet mix.  Is there anything I can do to get them to start eating more of the crested gecko diet???

Thanks,
Will

stop feeding the crickets altogether and they will have no choice but to eat the CGD.

I would gradually reduce the frequency of crickets and increase the introduction of CGD. Maybe mix it up, dab a little on your finger, and get the geckos to lick it off, just do they get a taste for it.

CGD and the occasional crickets are the way to go.  How big are you cresties?  IOf they are little guys, you maye THINK they aren't eating their diet, but they probably are, it's very hard to tell when little cresties are eating their diet because they eat so little.  OR you are feeding too many crickets and they are getting full, and have no reason to go and eat their diet.

I have CGD available every day that I don't feed crickets. I usually offer crickets twice a week, this seems to work well. If you're having trouble getting your cresteds to eat the CGD, just dab some on their nose so they have to lick it off, eventually they'll aquire a taste for it.

I have two cresteds and the best way to go is just with CGD but sometimes I offer crickets as a treat but I always powder them with Nekton (it has a lot of good stuff in it) and when they get the crickets they love them.  But the CGD is perfect for them. I used to just use the CGD once in a while and solely feed crickets with powder and I have definitely noticed improvement overall with them.

Also, I like to spoon feed them the CGD like babies (haha) because when I spoon feed I know exactly how much they have eaten.  And give them some time with it too.  Just think if you saw something you never ate before and someone was trying to make you eat it ya know? I think they will do fine on CGD alone.

you should reduce the feedings of crickets to once a week and only provide 2-3 appropriately sized crickets per gecko than provide cgd the rest of the week. thay will not intentionally starve them selfs.and this feeding regimen will maximize growth and cgd intake.
