My thoughts are that is flippin awesome, but the price tag is a bit hefty.

I second that James. I don't know if I'd want to buy one until more and more people used them. Mainly because I would want to know how well they work, if there were any problems with it at all. The price tag is a little stiff, but if it works well and doesn't have any problems I would say its worth it. Very cool incubator though.

i say why shell out $550 when cups on a shelf work just fine?  Grin

if cresteds were proven to be temperature sexed, and the unit was able to provide cooler than room temps, then i could see the justification.  or if you were rich and had nothing better to do with your money.

i tend to agree.  i thought is was very cool... but when i saw the price, i about fainted!  it seems easy to me to just make a perlite incy.  i'd love to hear about it, though, if someone else tried one... Smiley

I also agree with the temperature sexing thing, but even with all those cool gadgets like temp/humidity control, i still dont see whats so special about it to cost that much

I don't like the fact that it's height is only 6". Also that it would be hard to separate clutches of eggs from different females. And then the price blows.

Separation of clutches doesn't have to be done by different incubation containers, can just use different markings on the eggs. I always write the females name on the egg instead of a line for the top.

yeah but what happens when your not home, two (or more) eggs hatch while your away and and all of a sudden you have 2+ geckos running around and 2+ eggs open all from 2+ mothers?

I mean you probably could just make some sort of seperator out of cardboard, but for the price tag they should include something like removable separators right? Also, as i was typing i just thought of a question. Its kind of off topic so if it bothers any of you i will just make my own thread...if and when a baby hatches inside your incubator, wouldnt they run out of air if its airtight like it should be? Ive heard some people leave them in there untill their first shed, but dont you think they could run out of air?

really? thats interesting because most people on another forum that i belong to use airtights and air them out once a week. I've also heard it works with some small holes in it, bit if you put too many holes or make them too big the substrate could dry out and thats not good. so to me it just seems easier to make an airtight one and air it out once or twice a week for a few seconds.

I would never spend that kind of money on that unless you're dealing with something other than crested geckos. I have a 12" X 24" gladware container filled with perlite that works perfectly at room temperature. I think I spent a whole $20 for the tub and perlite, lol.

Yea, that's a little expensive for me.  A lot of people on the Morelia fourms make them out of big coolers.  I'm going to need one in a couple years for my snakes and I will probably go with just making one over paying $400-500.

This one is nice too and a little cheaper.  I was looking at this one before I decided to make one nsreptiles.com
I ordered one of their racks before and I was really inpressed with it and they are nice to deal with too.
