calcium glubonate vs calcium gluconate.

I have two cresties that are low on calcium.

1.  Male/1 yrs old approx/just acquired about 2 months ago.  He has a tail that is kinked, Which of the two calcium supplements would be better for him.

2.  Female/32 grams/age unknown/acquired about 2-3 months ago.  (Her name is Gecko) Gecko likes to bark and shiver when I touch her.  It worried me so a vet visit was made.  The visit was not a productive visit as far as I was concerned.    I therefore took her to someone I know at a swap I visit occassionally.  He told me that her calcium sacks were very small.  Thought that was why she barks and shivers.  About 2 weeks later Gecko laid two eggs, poor quality of eggs, they were bumpy and very pale color.   They molded and were discarded.  As soon as she liad the eggs her attitude changed.  No barking, no shivering.  She started to show the same traits about a month later.  I have made a "DAH!" decision, this is her way of telling me leave me alone I am gravid.  I still have the issue of calcium sacks.  A friend gave me Liquid Calcium gluconate that also has calcium lactate.  Someone else has told me that is not the right stuff, get calcium carbonate.  Please Gecko Lovers, what calcium supplement would you suggest for my two geckos.  I really am confused.

I would go with calcium carbonate, which, theoretically, is the "purest" source of calcium, and probably the most easy to metabolize. Calcium lactate is better for creatures that can metabolize lactose, and crested geckos can only metabolize fructose and glucose, like other omnivorous/herbacious herps.
The fact that the calcium is "calcium lactate" kind of turns me off to it since reptiles really cannot digest lactose. But hopefully people have other opinions too.
Hope this helps.
