I was thinking about adding "lunar lights" to my tank in order to see my crested gecko at night withought using light it can see. I know they cant see red, blue, or black. I have something called "Lunar Lights" and I use them on my fish tank, It says that they can be used for terrariums and that the red can be used for reptiles. I was just wondering if they would be okay to use with crested geckos. Would the geckos be able to see the blue light version, or is there a certain type of blue light they cant see, or should I just go with the red version to be safe?
Here is a link to the website with Lunar Lights:      http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=12760&Ntt=lunar%20lights&Ntk=All&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial&Np=1&pc=1&N=2004&Nty=1

If you have any information i would appreciate that to Smiley
thanks,
Joe

I use Marina? Micro LED Lights:

http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441814366&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302030120&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023693&bmUID=1185232717811&itemNo=0&Ntt=marina+lighting&In=All&previousText=marina+lighting&N=2

Although they are normally for aquariums, they work just as good (IMO even better) out of water!  I use the red LED lighting and it only produces the light and no heat. I have been using it a couple weeks now, and it doesnt disturb my Cresties sleep cycle whatsoever.

Cool, thanks for the help guys. The link Warnersister gave me had something about the lunar lights, but said to make sure I get the red. I took the link to the Marina lights, they use 6 watts, were as the lunar lights use 1. The Marina ones are cheaper though so it all depends on what they have up at the petshop I guess. I'll make sure to get a red one though just to be safe.
Thanks again,
Joe
