Some background.

Over the last year or so in searching for a female for my Pine Island male "Rodan", I've discovered that Rhacodactylus chahoua females are very thin on the ground.  Hatchlings are offered fairly regularly and pairs are occasionally available.  Males seem to be available most of the time but healthy adult females are virtually never around, or at least never for sale.   Possible contributing factors are that the relative scarcity of chahouas generally means that many females are bred before they are quite ready age-wise or weight-wise, and that, combined with the fact that they produce highly calcified eggs compared to other Rhacodactylus, can lead to health issues.  When the rare singleton adult female is found, it will often be an MBD survivor with visible resultant deformities.  So I was pleased to be able to work out a very complicated multiple-animal deal to obtain this perfect 2-plus year old girl.  59 grams tonight.  "Megalon".  (Could not abandon the cheesy-Jap-monster-flick theme.)

Good luck my friend.  Took me more then a year to locate one, and that was with putting out "feelers" with all my nationwide gecko friends.  My restrictions were that it had to be unimpeachably Pine Island and unquestionably free of deformities due to MBD, and when opportunity finally knocked I ended up paying a lot more then I'd care to admit to my wife.....
