Hey all.  I'm getting ready to build a new enclosure for my crested gecko.  For those of you who've done it yourselves, what can you recommend in anything?  What kind of dimensions do you think make sense?  I'm just interested to hear your thoughts.  Also, if I wanted to have a rock-like surface on the rear part of the enclosure, (see the exo-terra cages) what should I make that with?
Thanks.

how big of an enclosure are you building?

im not building one from scratch, however, i am getting ready to modify some 5,10 and 20 gal fish tanks

i have a few links that might help you

this one is on how ot make a fake backround
http://crestedlady.com/howto.htm

and if you search the repashy forums and the geckosunlimited forum, you should find a few threads on how to do the tank, i couldnt find them on a quick search but i know they are there...one user to look for is haroldo.....

The crestedlady site was perfect.  Thanks a lot.
I'm probably going to build one about 18x30x30 inches  That way I can have enough room for my guy and perhaps a harem someday.
Thanks again!

I would do the largest you can afford. Make it huge and you can put any Rhac in there, Might I suggest 36" by 36" by 36"

I like cubes because cresteds will utilize ground space, as they are semi arboreal, and it makes for a nice natural vivarium (if you like that stuff, it will be ideal for anything really).

I once made a function for determining the gallon size by dividing the volume in inches cubed by 240

That size tank would come to about 195 gallons... wow!
